Deb

from : Liverpool, UK

personal object : a black purse

I can’t ever get rid of this purse because of the sentiment behind it. It is about 26 or 27 years old, maybe even older, and my children used to put stickers on it – you can still see the outline of some of the stickers. It still has an oyster card in from a long time ago when I used to visit my son in London. Every time I lose it, it always finds its way back to me.

chosen artwork : Untitled 1    Cy Twombly, 1967

Standing in front of this piece made me think of the wrinkles in the soft leather of my purse. The different hues of black, grey and white reminded me of how the leather catches the light.
