Holland & Poulton's suite of sixteen large-scale photographs is the outcome of a commission for the Royal Liverpool & Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust to make an artwork for the new-build Liverpool Royal hospital.

Invisible Workers celebrates some of the many people and departments whose work in the hospital goes unseen by patients, but whose skills and expertise are a vital part of the healthcare infrastructure that is essential to their medical care.

After an initial period of research during which they visited the ‘invisible’ departments of the hospital, Holland & Poulton asked members of staff to identify something they used on a daily basis, which represented the work they did.
