Maria Antonietta

from : Italy

personal object : a handwritten note

On this small piece of paper are the words ‘Ti amo’, which means ‘I love you’. My father wrote it in one of the darkest periods of my life. I always carry it with me so that I never forget that real love does exist.

chosen artwork : Untitled    Glenn Ligon, 2006

As soon as I went into the room I immediately noticed the big, written word: AMERICA. I associated this luminous writing with a great sense of freedom.
