Paola

from : Catanzaro, Italy

personal object : a necklace

My necklace is made from dried fruit, which can be found in the area where my grandparents live. One day, when I was in Sila, the beautiful place in Calabria where my grandparents live, my grandma told me that when she was young she used to make necklaces with these fruits - so I tried, too, with her help. Maybe because of the strong connection between me and my grandma, I think that this object is my personal lucky charm.

chosen artwork : Bursting Shell    Christopher Richard Wynne Nevinson, 1915

I have chosen this artwork for the disposition of the light, and its dark shapes and its spiral, which reminds me of the fruits that my necklace is made from.
