Pamela

from : Guatemala

personal object : a camera

After a period of much difficulty – the worst year of my life – I sold all my possessions in order to travel. With that money, I bought my GoPro camera and a travel ticket. My camera represents change in my life as it has a record of all my travels and important experiences. Although, to look at, it is just a camera (an 'object') it is very meaningful to me.

chosen artwork : Rusty Mirage (The City Skyline)    Kiluanji Kia Henda, 2013

The artwork represents construction – there is a process taking place, which is also happening in my life. There are eight images and this reminds me that the number 8 is important to me. I like the simple and monochromatic images, which reflect the style of my life now. I tend to always connect artworks and images with events in my life.
