Laura

from : Brighton, UK

personal object : a platinum and diamond ring

My mum and grandma had two identical eternity rings made in Hatton Garden and now I have one of them. I am the third generation to wear it. I am proud to wear it every day; to me it represents strong female relationships, love, beauty and family.

chosen artwork : Rusty Mirage (The City Skyline)    Kiluanji Kia Hendra, 2003

These eight photographs remind me of home and family. As I walked towards the images, they reminded me of Brighton Beach, where I grew up. They show a group of people working together – it reminds me of my sister and I and our three children. We went to see a show called ‘Block’ – contemporary dance depicting relationships and connections through building blocks. As a family, we connect to each other through culture and live performances of dance.
